28 days . . .

until Don and I are homeowners.
"What's that I smell in the air? The American Dreeeeeeaaaaaammmm!"
Don and I have been singing that line from Miss Saigon for about a week.

Sorry to keep you waiting on all the dish. Last Friday we made an offer. On Sunday they counter offered. We accepted that offer, but had it contingent on the inspection. Our agent told us that we were getting such a great deal on the house (because of the bad market right now) that we should just go with their counter offer, which amounted to their asking price, plus closing costs.

Then Wednesday came, and with it the inspection of the home. It is a 22 year old house, and there were a few problems. We added an addendum to the contract with a slew of things we wanted them to fix. We held our breath and waited.

Yesterday we got the call from our agent. They agreed to everything! Apparently by this time, the agent told them that the market is only getting worse and they should just get deal done.

"Luck by the pail. How can you fail? And best of all IT'S FOR SALE!! The American Dreeeeaaaammmmm!"

We close in 28 days.
